Been contemplating the heat death of the universe way too much lately - and how we’re little agents of entropy. This piece is a deconstruction of pattern and geometry - and an homage to Escher. Layers of stained birch and wood glue - with hand painted rings subtly fading to darker blues. The top layer is one continuous sheet of birch ply; I found the grain absolutely beautiful and wanted to preserve as much as destroy. This the 2nd proof of this piece. This one sold at Oregon Country Fair - but I can make one to order in about a week.
