atershed began as an exploration of emotional terrain - the idea that we are shaped the same way landscapes are shaped. By pressure. By flow. By time.

Instead of drawing the figure first, I let the contours build the body naturally, like the form was being carved out through layers of experience. The result exists somewhere between a figure, a landscape, and an erosion map of the self.

This new version expands the original piece into a larger diptych across two 14" x 21" panels, allowing the composition more space to breathe and dissolve. The contrasting warm and cool palettes create a tension between different internal states - two emotional climates existing at once.

Built from layered laser-cut wood and hand-painted gradients, the piece continues my Topography of the Soul series: mapping the invisible ways experience changes us over time.
