The Call (Special Edition)

The Call (Special Edition)
That first moment - when something shifts, and you know you can’t stay where you are.
The Call is rooted in the beginning of the hero’s journey. Not the action, not the transformation - but the instant before it all begins. The pull toward the unknown. The quiet signal that asks you to step forward.
Shaped as a wolf in profile, the outer form holds a layered forest within it, revealing a second world carved into the body itself. Inside, a lone wolf stands beneath a luminous moon, surrounded by tall, vertical trees that feel both grounding and directional - like a path forming in real time.
This special edition came together unexpectedly. While going through studio storage, I found a small set of remaining layers from the original run - a piece that had already sold out. I rebuilt the composition and introduced a subtle glow within the inner scene, giving the moonlit forest a quiet presence that shifts with the light, like something just beginning to reveal itself.
Each piece is built from multiple layers of laser-cut wood, creating depth you can physically look into. The contrast between the bold, stained exterior and the cool, luminous interior reflects that threshold moment - who you’ve been on the outside, and what’s beginning to emerge within.
This isn’t about the journey itself. It’s about the decision to begin.
Baltic Birch; Acrylic Paint - 21" x 14" x 1”
This was a limited edition of 50 that sold out fast, but I recently found one of the artist’s proofs in storage.
