Watershed (Artist Proof)

Watershed (Artist Proof)
This piece started as an exploration of form and movement.
Not just physical movement - but internal movement.
The kind you can’t see, but you feel shifting underneath everything.
I began thinking of it like a kind of topography of the soul -
where the contours aren’t literal elevation, but emotional terrain.
Pressure, flow, resistance, release.
Instead of drawing the figure first, I let the “landscape” shape it.
Like the body is being revealed through layers of experience -
carved by time, movement, and whatever passes through us.
This version is an artist proof.
There are a few small imperfections from the process (shown in photos),
but the piece itself feels alive in a way I didn’t want to over-refine.
These early versions are often where the idea is the most honest.
Along with the main piece, I’m including the positive cut sculpture -
the form that was removed to create this one.
It’s the inverse, but it carries the same motion.
Two versions of the same moment -
one defined by what remains, the other by what was let go.
I’m going to make a series with different color palettes, but for now this one is available.
